UNFSS+4: 2nd UN Food Systems Summit Stocktake

UNFSS+4 One UN for Nutrition

27-29 July 2025 in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia

Hosted by the Governments of Ethiopia and Italy

The United Nations Food Systems Summit Stocktake (UNFSS+4) is a global gathering to assess progress and renew commitment to transforming how food is produced, distributed, and consumed. Building on the 2021 Summit and its first stocktake in 2023, it recognizes food systems as central to achieving the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Yet, the world is off track on nutrition: while some indicators like stunting have improved, others — such as anaemia, obesity, and access to healthy diets — are worsening. Poor diets now drive the majority of health-related costs linked to food systems. UNFSS+4 is a chance to reframe food systems transformation through a nutrition lens — making healthy, affordable, and sustainable diets a global priority. Placing nutrition at the heart of food systems is not optional — it is essential for human health, equity, and planetary well-being.
