Organizers: the Initiative on Climate Action and Nutrition (I-CAN), Alliance of Champions for Food Systems Transformation (ACF), Coalition of Action on Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems (HDSFS), World Wide Fund for Nature Food Forward Initiative (WWF Food Forward), the Food Systems NDC Scorecard (led by Mercy for Animals [MFA]). The event is also supported by Irish Aid, FCDO, and GIZ.

Background:

This session will showcase countries’ progress in addressing climate change and enhancing food security and nutrition through food systems transformation, alongside other co-benefits such as protecting and restoring nature and improving socioeconomic outcomes. 

Objectives:

  1. Tell a positive story of real change at national level by showcasing inspiring national stories, while also recognizing challenges
  2. Advocate a systemic approach by highlighting interconnections between different food systems domains and potential for win-wins
  3. Link climate action on food systems to outcomes on hunger and malnutrition
  4. Showcase initiatives and solutions supporting countries
