High-level Closed-door Workshop under COP30 Presidency Programme
Partners of the Healthy Diets from Sustainable Food Systems (HDSFS) Coalition, including FAO, have been invited to participate in a high-level closed-door workshop convened under the COP30 Presidency Programme. The session, organized by HDSFS Member Countries and COP30 hosts Brazil, focuses on the Acceleration Plan under Activation Group 10 (Axis 3) on Policy Convergence.

Objective 10 is the only one among the 30 that explicitly references nutrition (“Equitable access to adequate food and nutrition for all”), underscoring the central role of nutrition in achieving equitable and climate-resilient development. The COP30 Action Agenda, a framework of 30 objectives under six thematic pillars designed to accelerate implementation based on the outcomes of the first Global Stocktake of the Paris Agreement.

Led by the Brazilian Ministry of Social Development and Fight Against Hunger (MDS) through its National Secretariat for Food Security (SESAN), this Acceleration Plan aims to advance policy alignment between food systems and climate action, promoting a systemic approach and social participation to uphold the Human Right to Adequate Food and advance Climate Justice.
The HDSFS Coalition has contributed to ensuring that nutrition and healthy diets are central elements within the Acceleration Plan.
