Co-hosted by Global Alliance for Improved Nutrition (GAIN) and World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO), Scaling Up Nutrition (SUN) Movement, this breakout session of the ATACH Global Meeting will introduce the Initiative on Climate Action and Nutrition (I-CAN) with a focus on opportunities to integrate nutrition and climate at the national level in 2024.

Session Objectives:

  1. Analyze specific country case studies to understand contextual factors influencing the integration of nutrition and climate in national policies. Identify lessons learned, best practices, and areas for improvement based on diverse country experiences 
  2. Explore and identify opportunities for quick wins or low-hanging fruits in integrating climate and nutrition policies 
  3. Discuss opportunities and priorities for national-level action in 2024 and 2025 to strengthen the integration of nutrition and climate. Explore potential strategies, interventions, and partnerships that can be leveraged to advance this agenda 
  4. Facilitate a platform for sharing country perspectives, allowing representatives to discuss their experiences, challenges, and priorities in integrating nutrition and climate in national policies. Encourage dialogue, knowledge exchange, and collaboration among participants from different countries
